Collins Family Update Fall 2022

Always the Same One of my favorite attributes of God is his immutability—that he never changes. It is a great comfort to know that though our life circumstances change, and we ourselves change, yet God remains the same as he has been and will be for all eternity. Our new place of ministry and kind of ministry may seem less glamorous or exciting in some ways, but it is the same God that are continuing to serve, and he is the same God who continues to work in and through us for the glory of his name and the good of his people. He is the constant throughout all the changes. He is always the same. New Ministry Opportunity By God’s grace I (Chris) was called by a unanimous vote of the members of Antioch Bible Church of Mesick, MI to be their pastor on July 3, 2022. I am humbled and honored by the privilege of serving God in this new ministry. To be entrusted with the pastoral care of the souls of others is a weighty responsibility, and God has used this to draw me deeper into communion wi

Collins Family Update June 2022

Dear praying friends, The last few months have been turbulent for our family to say the least, as we have navigated a major life and ministry change. Thank you to all who have been praying for us! It has been so encouraging to have so many people reach out and remind us that they’re praying. We want to give you an update and ask for your continued prayers. My parents flew down to Puebla in early April to help us with our move back to the States. They were such a blessing to us as we worked through all the details of leaving Mexico, including packing our suitcases, holding a sale, and getting rid of all of our things there. We came back with just our suitcases full of mostly books and clothes, and we’ve been living out of suitcases for the last two and a half months. We were so encouraged and blessed by a generous offering from one of our supporting churches, Suber Road Baptist Church, which will help us a good bit with getting furniture and other necessities when we get our own pla

Collins Family Update: March 2022

Changing Ministry Location Many of you already know that we are planning to move back to the States in the near future. We have shared with many of you the reasons for this change, but if anyone has questions or concerns about this decision, please feel free to reach out to us. We are planning to arrive back in the States in mid-April, and we hope to see many of you then. We are currently pursuing an opportunity to serve in pastoral ministry in the northern Michigan area, and we are waiting for an answer from the church. While we patiently wait for God’s leading in our ministry change, we are continuing to serve in our ministries in Mexico, and we will continue serving via online ministry once we are back in the States. We expect to need missions support at least through the end of May, and perhaps longer depending on how God leads us in the next two months. We will do our best to keep in touch with our supporters as we learn how God is leading our family and ministry. We would ask

Puebla Bible Seminary The semester is over and most of the students are back with their families and serving with their home churches over Christmas break. This semester I had 29 students between the three courses I taught, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to teach them the Scriptures and the biblical languages. Group photo of this year's seminary students At the end of the semester, we had a time of food and fellowship with each class, and it was meaningful to hear all that the students had learned throughout the semester and how they’ve grown in their relationship with God and knowledge of His Word. We ended the semester with a fellowship of all the students and staff around a campfire, with games, singing, testimonies, and carne asada. I especially enjoyed hearing the testimonies of the students and what God has done in their lives. Collins Family Fall Update

Classes are in full swing at Puebla Bible Seminary. This semester I am teaching 3 courses: Greek 3: Introduction to Exegesis and Pentateuch and Historical Books (2 modules: in-person and online). Beyond the great opportunities I have for student interaction in class, I’ve had many opportunities to pour into students outside of the classroom. Pentateuch and Historical Books in-person Pentateuch and Historical Books Online Juan Carlos is one student we’ve had the opportunity to support and pour into over the last couple of years. He is in his final full year of seminary classes, and I’ve had him in all 4 language classes I teach. He has come to me many times for advice in ministry, in his walk with God, relationships, and other personal issues. Juan Carlos Caleb is a very hardworking student who is also a great leader and a very godly young man. I’ve had him in 4 classes now, and it’s very encouraging to me to see his passion for God, his compassionate servant’s heart, and his dedic

Summer 2021 Ministry Update

TRIP TO THE STATES We are so thankful that God provided the opportunity to travel to the States this summer. It was a joy to see so many of our family and friends and to report to our supporting churches. We hope we will have the chance to meet with even more of you the next time we are there. It is so encouraging to have so many churches and individuals partnering with us in the work God has given us to do here in Puebla. We know that many of you pray for us often, and we are very thankful for you. MOVING FORWARD We arrived back in Mexico just in time for me to participate in the wedding of one of my seminary students, Adolfo Gonzalez. It is encouraging to see God raising up ministry-minded families to serve Him here! Over the next few weeks, we look forward to jumping back into our various ministries with our church, Puebla Bible Seminary, the children’s homes, and discipleship in Huilango. I continue to have many opportunities to preach, teach, share devotionals, and discipl

Spring 2021 Ministry Update

Children’s homes Boys’ home With the boys’ home, we´ve had opportunities to share devotionals, play soccer with them at the seminary, and make pizzas together. One of the older boys, Emilio, celebrated his birthday earlier this month, and we were invited to join them for a birthday party!   Girls’ home At the girls’ home we’ve continued visiting every Friday night. I share a devotional with the girls about the attributes of God, and Sarah teaches them how to make desserts and other foods. A couple of the girls also had birthday parties recently, and we were invited to celebrate with them! One of the girls, Laura, asked Sarah to do a regular personal Bible study with her, and Sarah has invited her to come over to our home for lunch and a Bible study on Thursdays. She has been very receptive and asks really good questions. Several new girls arrived a couple months ago from another children’s home in Mexico, so there are now 14 girls. We are thankful for the opportunity t
