Collins Family Update December 2020

 Puebla Bible Seminary

Fall semester ended at Puebla Bible Seminary this last Friday, December 4. This semester I taught Greek 1 and 3. For many of the students, it was their most challenging class, but I was thankful to see their effort to learn. I also enjoyed getting to know many of the students on a more personal level and counseling and encouraging them in their personal lives and ministries.

At the end of the semester, we had a special celebration and Sarah made some delicious treats for my students.

For the spring semester next year, I am scheduled to teach Greek 2 and Introduction to Hebrew. I would appreciate your prayers as I prepare these courses and that God would help me as I teach and the students as they learn.

Children’s Homes

We have had several opportunities to serve in the children’s homes over the past few months. Many Saturdays we play soccer with the boys at the seminary, and I’ve been able to share from God’s Word with them too. At the girls’ home I have been sharing devotionals on Fridays and Sarah makes desserts or other foods with the girls. Some of the girls are very open to learning from the Bible, and of course they all love the desserts!

Ágape Baptist Bible Church

At the end of November, we started a new preaching series on the book of Romans, and I preached the first passage this last Sunday. I am excited to see how God will use this series to help people come to understand the gospel message its implications for their lives.

We are also thankful for God’s provision of a new place to meet, where we have room to grow. Please pray with us that God would bring more people to our church and that He would give us opportunities to help people come to know Him and grow in their relationship with Him.

Pray for us

  • Please continue to pray for us as we continue serving in Puebla, Mexico in these various ministries.
  • Pray that we would be faithful and walk closely with God so He can work through us.
  • Pray for wisdom as we parent our children, that God would work in our lives and theirs.

Thank you for your prayers and support!

 In Christ,

Chris and Sarah Collins

Thank You!!

As this month of Thanksgiving draws to a close, we want to express our thankfulness to God and to you for your partnership in ministry. Thank you for your encouragement! Many of you have encouraged us with kind and helpful words and deeds during the last several months as we’ve been raising support for our mission work in Mexico. Thank you! Thank you for your prayers! Many of you have prayed for us faithfully as we’ve traveled, shared our ministry, and prepared for ministry in Mexico. We know that mission work is spiritual warfare, and we desperately need your prayers on our behalf. Thank you! Thank you for your giving! Many of you have partnered with us financially and we are very thankful for your help. We could not serve without you. Thank you! We deeply appreciate you and the part God has given you in our ministry and in our hearts. Thank you for working together with us for the advance of the gospel in Mexico. Our desire is to depart for Mexico early ...

Collins Family Update: March 2022

Changing Ministry Location Many of you already know that we are planning to move back to the States in the near future. We have shared with many of you the reasons for this change, but if anyone has questions or concerns about this decision, please feel free to reach out to us. We are planning to arrive back in the States in mid-April, and we hope to see many of you then. We are currently pursuing an opportunity to serve in pastoral ministry in the northern Michigan area, and we are waiting for an answer from the church. While we patiently wait for God’s leading in our ministry change, we are continuing to serve in our ministries in Mexico, and we will continue serving via online ministry once we are back in the States. We expect to need missions support at least through the end of May, and perhaps longer depending on how God leads us in the next two months. We will do our best to keep in touch with our supporters as we learn how God is leading our family and ministry. We would ask ...

Mexico, Here We Come!

Tomorrow morning, while you will probably still be sleeping, we will begin our journey to Mexico. Our first flight is scheduled just before 5:30 AM, and we will be traveling all day with two connecting flights before we get to Puebla, Mexico tomorrow evening. We found out today that the airline we are flying with (Delta) had a major glitch in their system a couple days ago with hundreds of flights canceled, and so we are hoping and praying that our flights will not be canceled or delayed tomorrow. Please pray with us for safe and timely travel and connections tomorrow, and for patience and wisdom should we have to deal with canceled or delayed flights. Please pray for our different opportunities while we are in Mexico. We will have opportunities to meet many missionaries and other contacts in the Puebla area. We will have opportunities to see a variety of ministries and places we can serve in the future. We will have opportunities to share the gospel as I (Chris) speak at an orphanage...
